Agnieszka Radwanska seeks Grand Slams

Polish tennis star appoints Martina Navratilova as her new coach

Wellington (New Zealand): Polish tennis star Agnieszka Radwanska is hoping to bag her maiden grand slam title after appointing 18-time Grand Slam champion Martina Navratilova as her new coach. Czech born-American Navratilova, one of the game’s all-time greats with 59 grand slam singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles to her name, would work alongside Radwanska’s full-time coach Tomasz Wiktorowski.

She said that she did not sleep very well on Sunday night, thinking about getting back into match mode and the competitions. She added that she was delighted when Radwanska asked her if she would collaborate with Wiktorowski admitting that she can’t wait to get started, stuff.co.nz reported.

Radwanska, who lost to Serena Williams in the 2012 Wimbledon final, claimed one tour title in 2014 before reaching the semis of the WTA Tour finals in Singapore, where she lost 6-2, 6-2 to Simona Halep.

World number six Radwanska is hoping that the appointment of Navratilova would have a positive impact. She said that the former world number one’s achievements speak for themselves and she hopes that she can learn from all of Navratilova’s experience.
