Congress MLA Nitesh Rane's aide attempts to slap Uber general manager

Mumbai: A union leader belonging to Swabhiman Sangathana, led by Congress MLA Nitesh Rane, attempted to slap Shailesh Sawlani, the general manager of Uber Cabs in the city.

K.K. Tiwari, an active member of the union had a heated exchange with Mr Sawlani after the latter stepped out of a meeting with state transport commissioner Mahesh Zagade.

The incident occurred in the compound of the transport office itself where Tiwari jumped forward to slap Mr Sawlani, but missed.

Talking about what spurred the reaction Mr Tiwari said, “When I asked him why he is running a taxi service that is not legal and does not have any kind of monitoring government agency, he responded by asking me, ‘Who are you?’ so I told him who I am.”
