Visakhapatnam to get big plant for desalination

The Reliance project is on the top of the agenda of IED technologies

Hyderabad: A mega desalination project will be set up in Visakhapatnam with the help of Israel’s IDE Technologies. The firm plans to set up a massive reverse osmosis and desalination plant.

Israel’s ambassador to India Daniel Carmon said, “Given that Israel is a water-scarce region, we have excelled in using water efficiently.” Mr Carmon added that Israel could also help AP in waste management, recycling and desalination of water.

Explaining that Israeli technology will contribute to rapid growth of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Carmon added that they could also help the state in waste management, recycling and desalination of water.

He added,”IDE technologies is likely to set up a desalination project in Vizag,” IED has been delivering Boiler Feed Water, as well as potable water, to India’s largest oil refinery of Reliance in Gujarat. The Reliance project is on the top of the agenda of IED technologies.

Meanwhile, R. Ghanashyam, High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, met Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday.

Mr Ghanashyam said “Given that AP has the advantage of a long coastline and is planning on developing a string of ports along the coast, we believe there is good scope to work on gas,”
