LEAK: Samsung Galaxy S6 specifications leak via benchmarks

Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S6, is due to launch by Q2 in 2014

Samsung Galaxy S5 has been the recent flagships in the high-end smartphone segment. The next flagship, the alleged Galaxy S6, will be here within a few months and the rumour mill is already making all sorts of theories, specifications and concepts. However, in a recent update, new information about the Samsung Galaxy S6 has shown some light.

According to Mobileburn, the Samsung Galaxy S6 has been on test and the benchmarks are floating around the internet. The benchmark scores revealed the possible specifications of the next flagship by Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G925F has been tested and the results showed up on popular benchmark company AnTuTu. The smartphone in the test seems to be the European variant.

According to the test results, the Galaxy S6 sports a 5.5-inch display with a Quad HD panel featuring 1140x2560 pixels. Under the hood is a powerful 64-bit processor, which could be either from an Exynos 7420 chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. 3GB of RAM has been supplied for the chipset and around 32GB of storage is present. A 20MP rear camera along with a 5MP front camera makes up the shooters and an Android 5.0 Lollipop is what runs them all.

Samsung’s Project Zero, the codename for the flagship so far, and as per market watchers, will be borrowing the design and chassis from the recent Alpha series. The Samsung Galaxy S6 could sport a metal frame and could also have a possible inclusion or variant of the Edge display.

Since the device is in its testing phase, we assume that the production of the devices is in full swing (or will begin shortly). Samsung would be unveiling the device as early as February or March and the devices could be rolling out to the market a month or two later.

Expect to see the Samsung Galaxy S6 being unveiled at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) in Barcelona, which will be running between February and March 2015.
