195 companies in security panel

A total of 5,000 women and 2,000 male employees have attended these sessions

Hyderabad: The executive committee of the Society for Cyberabad Security Council reviewed the activities of its four sub-committees and other issues with Cyberabad police commissioner C.V. Anand here on Sunday.

The membership subcommittee reported that SCSC membership has now increased to 195 companies of which 150 have already contributed their annual share of one rupee a square feet of built up area.

The traffic sub-committee reported that 80 IT employees volunteered to work as traffic volunteers and are regularly turning up for traffic duties in the IT corridor.

The security sub-committee reported that they have conducted three mock fire evacuation drills and have spoken to many companies on the need to install surveillance cameras.

The women’s safety sub- committee or women’s forum of the SCSC has become the most active. Led by Mamata, the HR in-charge of Invesco, the team has already held a number of awareness sessions in the IT corridor, the release said.

A total of 5,000 women and 2,000 male employees have attended these sessions. The DCPs of Madhapur and traffic and other police officers are also associating themselves with these meets.

The main focus is on explaining the precautions to be taken while hiring taxis, using public transport, showing films on women safety and explaining male employees the slogan, “When you see a women, it is not an opportunity, it is a responsibility.”

Mr C.V. Anand participated in one such event at Phoenix Avance SEZ and addressed a gathering of over 1,000 employees.

He explained to them the steps taken by the government to improve the safety of women in Cyberabad and Hyderabad and requested them to be alert in public places.

Ms Mamta, the vice chairperson of the Women's Forum, spoke about the need for more inputs in the induction training of companies.

Several queries by the participants too were answered. The DCPs of Malkajgiri, Madhapur and other officials attended the interactive session.
