He claims to be assistant director in Kollywood

Chennai: A man, claiming to be an assistant director in Kollywood, was arrested on Tuesday when he allegedly climbed over the external fencing of Tambaram Indian Air Force base while drunk. The police identified the trespasser as Abdul Rahman, 36, a native of Perambalur. He had managed to climb over the 12 feet high fencing erected around the IAF base. He and his friend Asokan were drinking on the Sadanandapuram side of the IAF when Abdul Rahman, climbed over the fence and jumped into the IAF premises despite Asokan trying to stop him.

Abdul Rahman was supposed to see off Asokan, who was travelling to his native place, Perambalur, from Perungalathur. But on way, they decided to have a few drinks after which Abdul Rahman became hyper-active.As soon as he landed inside the IAF premise, men guarding the area surrounded him and took him for questioning. “He was kept in the base till Tuesday evening. The IAF officials had questioned him thoroughly to make sure he was not planning any kind of sabotage at the IAF facility,” the police said.

He had told them that he was drunk when he climbed over the fence. The IAF officials handed him over to the Peerkankarnai police station on late Tuesday evening. Though he claimed he was working as an assistant director, he was not sure about the movies for which he had worked, the police added.

He has been arrested for trespassing into a defence facility. His friend Asokan was let off after preliminary enquiry.
