Ongole: There are as many as 3,342 government schools are there in the district, Except, in 26 schools, all the schools have separate toilets for girl students.
The Sarva Siksha Abhiyan officials got permission from the district administration to construct separate toilets for girls in these 26 schools, which will be constructed very soon. The officials are ready to construct additional toilets also for the convenience of students.
There is a need to construct 460 toilets for boys in high schools. The Power Finance Corporation came forward to construct 999 toilets in the district. The SSA executive engineer K. Venkateswara Rao said “We have asked the Power Finance Company management to construct 460 toilets in boys’ high schools. We have sufficient number of toilets in girls’ schools. In case of need, we are ready to construct additional toilets also. Many corporate companies are coming forward to build toilets in government schools.”
