Tejas ex-test chief found murdered in Bengaluru

Bengaluru police is suspecting a motive other than robbery for the murder

Bengaluru: A senior retired IAF official, who was the project director for the flight test of Tejas, the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft programme, was found murdered at his residence here on Monday.

Air Commodore Parvez Khokhar (retd), 70, was found strangled to death by a cloth with both his hands and feet tied up at his residence near Huskur road, Bengaluru (Rural) police said.

A graduate of the National Defence Academy, Air Cmdre Parvez worked for worked for global aerospace majors like Boeing and Saab Group as well.

Police is suspecting a motive other than robbery for the murder, which came to light on Monday morning.

According to the police, after dinner last night, Air Cmdre Khokhar and his wife slept in separate rooms, as was usual for them.

In the morning, after waking up, his wife found the door to her room locked from the outside. She tried to call out to her husband but got no response.

Her cries for help brought neighbours, who finding the front door of the house locked, entered from the back door, which remained open.
