Bengaluru: The ‘Kiss of Love’ campaign turned into a political slugfest following urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake’s sarcastic remark against former BJP minister and Member of Parliament, Shobha Karandlaje, on Saturday. Mr Sorake’s initial reaction to queries by media persons on the campaign was that he had nothing more to add as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has asked the home minister to take a call on it.
But when more questions followed on his reaction to opposition from BJP leaders like Jagadish Shettar and Shobha Karandlaje, he remarked: “She is an expert in that.” And when media persons quizzed him further, he added “She is an expert in what you asked (Kiss of Love).”
While Ms Karandlaje could not be reached as her cell phone was switched off, spokesperson of the state unit of BJP, S. Prakash, criticised Mr. Sorake for making such a remark. “No one can tolerate this when a responsible minister in the cabinet of Mr. Siddaramaiah makes such a statement against an MP,” he added.
