TS gives nod to police to take P. Dayanand’s case to Supreme Court

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday pulled up the Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University of Hyderabad for calling fresh application and information from the private engineering colleges to grant affiliation for the academic year 2014-15.

Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy was hearing a batch of petitions by private engineering colleges of Telangana state, challenging a circular issued by the varsity on November 7, 2014.
“Why does the varsity authorities try to complicate every issue?” the Judge said.

K. Ramakrishna Reddy, advocate general of Telangana, appearing for the JNTU, submitted that the authorities have agreed to withdraw the circular.

CAT order challenged in HC

The Telangana State government moved Hyderabad High Court challenging a Central Administrative Tribunal order, quashing the process of the state government to confer IAS to eligible state-level officers, for the year 2013. The government has contended in its plea that it has strictly followed the adopted criteria.

AP Pollution Board asked to act

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of the Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed the AP Pollution Control Board to act on a representation to reduce noise pollution allegedly caused by a local mosque near Thadithota bus station in Rajahmundry.

TS cops to take Dayanand to SC

The Telangana State government on Friday has accorded sanction to the police to appeal before the Supreme Court against P. Dayanand, brother of former minister P. Shankar Rao for tampering a court judgement with regard to Green Fields land dispute. Police sought legal opinion in this matter as the HC had quashed the charge against Mr Dayanand.

CAT stalls AP secy’s transfer

The Hyderabad bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal on Friday directed the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State governments not to transfer A. Vidya Sagar, the principal secretary of AP’s tribal welfare department from the post for a period of four weeks. He had been allotted to Telangana State.
