Samajwadi plans to woo Dalits

The biggest blow that the SP plans to deal to the BSP

Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party hopes to demolish the Bahujan Samaj Party’s strongest bastion, its Dalit votebank, with a sustained campaign beginning in December, and if these plans translate into reality, the BSP should be prepared for a major shock in the next election. SP MLA Subhash Pasi, who heads the party’s SC/ST cell, told this newspaper an exclusive interview he will soon launch a campaign to bring Dalits into the SP?s fold and dispel the belief that backed the BSP alone. The biggest blow that the SP plans to deal to the BSP is by increasing direct interaction with Dalits.
