Confident of good result in talks with Shiv Sena, says BJP

Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy said deliberations with Shiv Sena are definitely on

Mumbai: Denying that there was any bitterness in its approach towards its former ally Shiv Sena on the issue of the Sena's participation in the Maharashtra government, BJP said it was sure something good will emerge out of the talks between the two parties.

"Deliberations (with Shiv Sena) are definitely on. I am confident the deliberations will have a good result," Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy told reporters on Thursday.

Rudy, who was BJP in charge of Maharashtra and camped in Mumbai to oversee the party's poll apparatus, said there was "no bitterness" as far as relations with Sena were concerned.

"We are in alliance at the Centre. I agree that there may be some issues at the state level," Rudy said.

"We welcome support of all parties and individuals as far as Maharashtra's development is concerned," the BJP leader said.

Asked about NCP's support to the BJP government in Maharashtra and if the party should accept it after targeting the Sharad Pawar led party over corruption, Rudy said, "If anyone offers us support, should we not accept it?"

"Do you mean to say that we should leave power," Rudy said, when a reporter tried to point out the incongruity in BJP preaching one thing and practising another, in accepting support of a party it alleged was corrupt.

"There is no confusion in Maharashtra. We have a stable government in place here. The Devendra Fadnavis led government will complete its five year term," Rudy said.
