Bengaluru's Kiss of Love now gets Muthalik’s hiss of hate

Muthalik cleared that he would stop the show at all costs
Bengaluru: "You should be ashamed of yourself. You are an immoral woman who has no values and respect for Indian culture. How can you even imagine you will be allowed to host the campaign?" said Sri Ram Sene chief, Pramod Muthalik on Tuesday, in a rant aimed at the 23 year old Rachita Taneja, whose plans to host a Kiss of Love in Bengaluru have run into a wall of vitriol from the moral police.
Making clear that the Sene would stop the show at all costs, Mr Muthalik told DC "Our men will go to any extent to stop it. It is a display of sheer vulgarity, that's unacceptable in our society. I will bring a stay against holding such events and file a PIL against the organizers of the campaign."
Despite threats, Ms Rachita Taneja, who is planning to organise the Kiss of Love campaign in Bengaluru, is planning to go ahead with the event.
After Deccan Chronicle broke a news report about Ms Taneja receiving threat messages to the campaign on her Facebook page, she received a call from Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Division) Sandeep Patil on Tuesday.
Ms Taneja told Deccan Chronicle, “I am going to meet Mr Patil on Wednesday and will discuss security for the event. Also, our official page has received over 300-plus likes. I am certain that people will come out in support of the campaign. Let’s just stay positive about it.”
Mr Patil said, “I called the organiser about her plans for hosting the campaign. The meeting is slated for 10 am on Wednesday. We want to know the exact plan of action.”
Right wing leaders were obviously not happy with the campaign. Senior RSS leader V.K. Acharya said, “This is absolutely uncalled for. The city doesn’t need a campaign like this. Just to get into the limelight, youngsters are adapting the Western culture. I strongly oppose the ‘Kiss of Love’ campaign.”
Prem, a National Executive Council Member, ABVP, said that the event, at a time when the city is witnessing a spurt in rape cases, will worsen the situation. “We condemn the campaign. It is absolutely not welcome by our members. Such events will only bring a bad name to the city. ABVP members are also planning to stage a protest on November 20 in the city against the event.”
Ms Taneja is likely to hold the mega campaign in front Town Hall on November 29.
