Miyapur police arrested the principal for hurting the student

Hyderabad: K. Srihari, the principal of the Janapriya Olympiad School, allegedly beat up a three-and-half-year-old nursery student in Miyapur leading to a police case on Tuesday.

Miyapur police arrested the principal for hurting the student. The victim, one B. Jagadeep, is a resident of Miyapur. The child was given first aid treatment after he sustained an injury on his right cheek, police officials said.

According to Jagadeep’s mother B. Ramya, when she went to pick up her son from the school in the afternoon, she found him crying. She then noticed the injury on his cheek. When she asked the child, she was told that the principal had beaten him. When she confronted the principal, he was unapologetic and said he had to punish the child since was misbehaving in the class.

Ms Ramya lodged a complaint with the Miyapur police. “We received a complaint against Mr Srihari. After booking a case against the accused, we arrested him in the evening,” said Miyapur sub-inspector Chandra Reddy.
