Status status issue of Andhra Pradesh to be speed up, says Nirmala Sitharaman

Nirmala says Centre will settle all AP issues
Bhimavaram: Union minister of state for commerce Nirmala Sitharaman assured efforts to expedite the process to accord special status to the Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to newsmen here on Monday, the Union minister said that the Centre was committed to accord such status. She also assured that the Centre would sort out several long pending issues in the state.
Referring to West Godavari, the minister said that several coastal areas were facing sea erosion especially during natural calamities like cyclonic storms and added that they were taking up a study to find out a permanent solution to contain it.
She said that the people in Pedamynivani Lank were not even able to escape during storms as the only bridge across the drain to help them escape to the mainland, was in a dilapidated condition.
She also assured to consider enhancement of percentage of procurement of levy rice from AP by the Food Corporation of India.
