‘I only watch my own show’

'I don’t mind it because I know the audience is enjoying our work'

Mumbai: In keeping with the trend that most popular television shows follow, Jodha Akbar has undergone a time leap. Paridhi Sharma who plays Jodha on the show says that she isn’t rattled by the sudden leap. “I knew it was going to happen. Leaps are a trend that all Ekta Kapoor shows follow.

And I knew that there would be kids too. I am fine with it because Ayan (who plays her son Salim in the show) is very young. Fortunately I am very fond of kids and bonded with Ayan and the child who plays Anarkali instantly. The best part is that they don’t have ego issues like the older actors,” says Paridhi.

While most time leaps call for a change in the actor’s look, Paridhi hasn’t had to deal with it yet. “My designers for the show decided not to change my look for now, but maybe in the future they will,” she adds.

The actress says that she is so much in love with her show, that she does not watch anything else. “Besides that, channels like Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, that I don’t think many people watch.”

So isn’t Paridhi afraid of being slotted in only historical roles? “I don’t mind it because I know the audience is enjoying our work. I would like to experiment in the future though, with dance shows such as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Nach Baliye. But definitely not Bigg Boss. I could never adjust there.”
