Probe into societies promised by Deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali

The Deputy CM said he would consult the CM and take a decision
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mohd. Mahamood Ali on Friday promised to consider the demand of all political parties in the Legislative Council to constitute a House Committee to probe the alleged irregularities in the Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Society, Film Nagar Cooperative Housing Society and other societies that have been allotted government lands.
When MLCs insisted on a probe, the Deputy CM said he would consult the CM and take a decision.
Intervening in the discussion, Council chairman Swami Goud told the members to await
the government decision.
The Deputy Chief Minister promised to take stringent action against land sharks and protect government, wakf lands in Rayadurg, Gachibowli and other areas in Ranga Reddy district and in the State.
Agriculture and Cooperation Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy admitted he received
complaints against some housing societies which have been allotted government lands. "Government will do everything to protect the government and Wakf lands. We will take action against those indulging in irregularities in the housing societies that have been
allotted government lands," Mr Ali told the Council.
Members cutting across party lines including Kompally Yadava Reddy, K.R. Amos, S.
Jagadeshwar Reddy (TRS), P. Sudhakar Reddy (Congress), Narsa Reddy (TD) and others
demanded the government to constitute a House committee or a Commission against the two societies and others.
The issue came up during questions pertaining to land grabbing at Kothacheruvu in Girgetpally village of Vikarabad mandal and involvement of some revenue officials in land scams at Raidurg and Gachibowli, Ranga Reddy district.
Earlier, a question was raised by T. Bhanu Prasad, K.R. Amos and Yadav Reddy on Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Society, but could not be taken up. However, on Friday members raised irregularities in various housing societies and land scams especially in Ranga Reddy district.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is seized of the file pertaining to irregularities in Film Nagar Cooperative Housing Society.
Dr N/ Kiranmayee, additional registrar in the commissioner for cooperation and registrar of cooperative societies who conducted a probe into Film Nagar Cooperative Housing Society found grave irregularities and recommended CBI or Vigilance inquiry two years ago, but government put the report in cold storage.
Deputy Chief Minister said one Special Grade Deputy Collector, two Deputy Collectors
were suspended and disciplinary action taken against them for their involvement in land
scams in Raidurg and Gachibowli of Ranga Reddy district.
Referring to encroachments on government land at Kothacheruvu in Girgetpally village in Vikarabad mandal by some private persons, he said government initiated action to remove them.
