Gujarat invites Tamil Nadu to its showcase summit

A global trade show 2015, will be organised from January 7

Chennai: Top bureaucrats from Gujarat on Thursday urged the state government to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat summit scheduled next year to attract foreign investments.

“Gujarat summit is now a global event partnered by eight foreign nations, all Chief Ministers can put forth best business practices in their states to attract business,” said Gujarat finance and energy minister Saurabhbhai Patel.

Mr Patel who was here in Chennai for a road show to showcase the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat 2015 summit scheduled from January 11 to 13, 2015 said Prime Minister Modi, who conceptualised the event will inaugurate the summit in which eight countries Japan, the UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, South Africa, the Netherlands and the US are partners.

A state-of-the-art convention centre in Gandhinagar is gearing up for the mega event. As part of the summit, a global trade show 2015, will be organised from January 7 and will be the biggest exhibition held so far with a display area of more than 100,000 sq metres.

Over 1000 firms are expected to take part and arrangements are in place to receive over 10,000 foreign delegates from over 100 countries, he said.

For the first time in India, an exclusive Global CEO conclave is scheduled and will feature participation from top executives of Fortune 500 firms, noble laureates, academicians and thought leaders. The gathering will be addressed by Prime minister, he added.
