KPSC candidates: High Court asks govt to make revised list public

The court had ordered that a fact finding committee on the allegation in September 2013

Bengaluru: The High Court on Tuesday asked the state government to make public the report submitted by the fact-finding committee on the KPSC recruitment irregularities by publishing it on the KPSC and government websites.

The court also directed the government to put the revised list of candidates submitted by the KPSC on Monday on its website. The KPSC has prepared the list of candidates again for the year 1998 following directions from the state government.

The counsel submitted that some of the names selected in 1998 had been deleted and 94 names have been added and interviews have been conducted. The new list is now waiting for the approval of the government, he said.

The court was hearing the public interest litigation filed by Khaleel Ahmed and others questioning irregularities in the recruitment of gazetted probationers in 1998, 1999 and 2004.

The court had ordered that a fact finding committee on the allegation in September 2013. The committee’s report was submitted earlier this year in a sealed cover and was opened on Monday.

When the case came up for hearing on Tuesday, the Division bench of Justices N. Kumar and B. Manohar ordered the government to publish the report on its website.

“There could be some mistakes in the report which may affect the interest of parties concerned.

Thus the report should be made public as it relates to public employment and they should know whether the KPSC and government has made recruitment in accordance with law,” the bench observed.

Further, the court asked the candidates and parties to file objections, if any, before November 18 and adjourned the hearing.
