State BJP wants Ramesh Jigajinagi in PM Narendra Modi ministry

Mr. Jigajinagi's candidature would be considered during the next expansion of the ministry

Bengaluru: Will veteran leader and five-time Member of Parliament Ramesh Jigajinagi make it to the Union cabinet on Sunday?

Sources in BJP told Deccan Chronicle that state unit chief Pralhad Joshi and former chief minister Jagadish Shettar requested party president Amit Shah to recommend Mr. Jigajinagi’s name to Modi as his induction into the cabinet would help the party consolidate its hold on SC and ST in Karnataka.

Mr. Shah, however, told these leaders that only ten ministers would be sworn-in on Sunday, and that Mr. Jigajinagi's candidature would be considered during the next expansion of the ministry.
