Kolkata: The police on Saturday arrested Sajid, the suspected mastermind of the terror module run by the Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) who had been absconding since the October 2 accidental blast in Burdwan. He was arrested on Saturday afternoon from near Kolkata airport while trying to escape to Bangladesh, sources said.
Sajid was handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has been probing a case seen as having international ramifications. His arrest comes within a week of the Central agency declaring a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to his arrest and is seen as a major breakthrough in the Burdwan blast investigation.
