Hyderabad: Telangana government’s first Budget Session was marked by colourful protests.
The BJP MLAs, led by K. Laxman and G. Kishan Reddy, trooped into the Assembly with kerosene lanterns and placards demanding that the government to withdraw power cuts and take measures to prevent farmers’ suicides.
It was also unique since the Budget was presented on the first day of the Session and there was no formal breakfast hosted by the government to leaders of the Opposition parties.
A senior Legislature official however clarified that the tradition of government hosting breakfast has been given up by the Congress government.
