Mr Yeddyurappa demanded a CBI inquiry and condemned the state government

SHIVAMOGGA: Life returned to normal in Tirthahalli town on Tuesday. Buses resumed operation and business establishments started their services, but schools and colleges remained closed.

Shivamogga MP B.S. Yeddyurappa, Udupi-Chikkamagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje and other BJP leaders visited the house of 14-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped and murdered, at Balebylu village on Agumbe Road near the town and consoled her parents.

Mr Yeddyurappa demanded a CBI inquiry and condemned the state government for failing to take quick action to nab the culprits.

Meanwhile, the bandh called in the temple town of Sringeri of Chikkamagalur district to protest against the girl’s death was total and peaceful. Former MLA Belur Gopalakrishna said that Sagar town will observe a bandh on Wednesday.
