Charred youth was native of Andhra Pradesh, say police

He appeared to be a hotel worker from Chittoor
Coimbatore: The youth who was found charred inside an abandoned corporation building along the railway track on Brooke Bond road last week appeared to be a hotel worker from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.
An elderly woman, claiming to be the mother of the 32-year-old deceased, approached the R.S. Puram police station on Monday morning and claimed that he was her son.
A native of Chittoor in AP, the family had settled down in Coimbatore many years ago.
On October 31, the charred remains of a man were found inside an abandoned building which was located by the side of the railway track on Brooke Bond road in the R.S. Puram police limit.
According the mother of the deceased, Mohan had allegedly left home around seven years ago and since then lost touch with the family.
He had separated from his family and frequently switching jobs. Mohan, who was working in a restaurant, lost his job abotu a month ago. He may have decided to end his life as he lost his job, say police sources.
R.S. Puram station inspector S. Bala Murali Sundaram said Mohan had been doing odd jobs and was said to be depressed. However, the police have not come to a final conclusion on his identity.
The deputy commissioner of police (law and order), Mr Pravesh Kumar, said the viscera have been sent to a forensic laboratory to rule out death due to poisoning. The skull of the man has been sent to the laboratory where a computer model of his face would be matched with photographs, the police said.
