Couple asks Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala to act against Attingal Circle Inspector

Thiruvananthapuram: Kiss of Love volunteers Rahul and Resmi who were attacked by a group of hooligans during a talk show on a Malayalam TV channel, has asked Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala to take action against the Attingal Circle Inspector who did not take action on the complaints they had registered. They have now carried the issue on Facebook.
They alleged that the reply they got while approaching the Attingal Circle Inspector was shocking. The police official said they needed to be bashed up. They have now demanded a reply from the Home Minister on the issue. In a related incident, after the talk show, writer R.Unni who was a panelist publicly kissed Abu Thahir who had allegedly attacked Kiss of Love volunteers in Kochi . After the kiss Unni reportedly told Thahir: “Nothing earthshaking happened after I kissed you”.
During the talk show Yuva Morcha activists assaulted the volunteers of ‘Kiss of Love’. The incident happened when the programme was being recorded. This attempt at moral policing was done in front of leaders like Dean Kuriakose who had come to attend the show.
The anchor had challenged the volunteers to kiss each other in front of everyone and the couple, Rashmi and Rahul, shared a peck on each other’s cheeks coolly. This was soon followed by the activists assaulting the couple, hurling obscenities at them, much to the chagrin and shock of the startled crowd, said the Kiss of Love page on Facebook.
