Government asks Andhra Pradesh for plan

TD MPs and AP officials have been asking the Centre to sanction funds for the capital city

Hyderabad: Union finance department joint secretary (budget) Rajat Bhargava wrote a letter to the AP government asking for proposals for the construction of its capital city. He said in his letter that unless the government sends concrete proposals on the construction of a capital city it will not possible for the Centre to sanction funds.

Recently TD MPs and AP officials have been asking the Centre to sanction funds for the capital city. Chief Minister Naidu also wrote a letter to Union finance minister requesting to provide an initial Rs 5,000 crore in the Union budget for development of the new capital city.

In his letter Mr Naidu said said the Centre needs to create a level playing field by assisting Andhra Pradesh in the establishment of a new capital.
