Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister angry over transfers

Period of transfers extended till the end of November

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was angry with some ministers over the issue of transfers done as per their whims.
He told the ministers that transfers need to be done on the basis of requirement. The AP Cabinet meeting was held for the first time at the Secretariat after the TD came to power.

The Cabinet has decided to extend the period of the transfers till the end of November. Mr Naidu told the ministers that the second phase of the “Janmabhoomi Maaovuru” will be conducted from November 1 to 11 and once the programme is completed, transfers will be done.

After the Cabinet meeting, AP information and public relations minister Palle Raghunath Reddy told the media that the Cabinet had adopted a decision to provide '5 lakh accidental death insurance for transport drivers in the unorganised sector.

He also said that the Aam Admi Bima Yojana scheme will be implemented. He said the scheme will provide relief to the poor families of transport drivers who die in accidents. Mr Reddy said the scheme will cover around 3.38 lakh transport drivers in the unorganised sector. He clarified that RTC and government drivers are not covered by this scheme.

The minister said the Cabinet had taken a decision to change taxation from a manual to an electronic system.

Mr Reddy also mentioned that the Cabinet had taken serious note of the conversion in Tirumala and would act against such incidents.

The Cabinet ministers have also decided to donate one month’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help those affected by Cyclone Hudhud.
