Dr G Parameshwar’s just perfect for KPCC: Karnataka CM

Siddu’s praise for KPCC chief’s organising skills

Bengaluru: In a clever move which seems to be aimed at thwarting Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, Dr G. Parameshwar’s attempts to get into the cabinet, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said that since Dr Parameshwar had very good organising skills, he should continue as KPCC president.

Speaking at a condolence meeting at the KPCC office to pay tribute to former KPCC president, V.S. Koujalagi, Mr Siddaramaiah heaped praise on Dr Parameshwar and said, "Probably he is the first Congress president to complete four years in office. With his organisational and leadership skills he was able to ensure unity among lakhs of party workers in the state. Certainly, his contribution to the party's victory in both the Local body and Assembly elections are really noteworthy. However, it is sad to note that the same momentum of victory could not be maintained during the Lok Sabha elections."

In the same breath, the CM added that Dr Parameshwar should continue as KPCC president as he enjoyed the blessings of AICC president Sonia Gandhi and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi. "I hope he continues as KPCC president as the party will be facing Gram Panchayat polls in May. Everyone including myself will strengthen the hands of Dr Parameshwar to ensure the party's victory in the polls," he said.

Earlier while speaking to reporters at his residence, Dr Parameshwar claimed that the CM was providing clean and corruption free governance in the state.
