PM Modi monitors Burdwan blast incident

An NIA team may soon visit Bangladesh to follow any leads into the blast case

New Delhi: The seriousness that the government is attaching to the Burdwan terror module can be judged from the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking personal interest in developments related to the case. Top government sources said that it was at the Prime Minister’s directive that National Security Advisor Ajit Doval visited the blast spot.

Sources said there is considerable concern among the highest quarters of the government as to how the Burdwan module of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen was being used as part of the outfit’s long-term plan to establish a radical Islamic state in Bangladesh.

An NIA team may soon visit Bangladesh to follow any leads that come up during the probe into the blast. The two main suspects, Sheikh Kausar and Yusuf, who are on run, are Bangladeshi nationals .
