Purpose behind the visit is to save interest of cotton farmers

ADILABAD: A delegation led by Minister Jogu Ramanna and MP Gadam Nagesh will soon meet the Union Textile Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar to appeal him to save the interest of the cotton farmers who had incurred huge loss due to drought conditions in the state. According to sources, a team of farmer’s representatives and officials and public representatives were planning to meet the Textile Minister to represent him the problems faced by the farmers in the Adilabad district in particular and state in general.
The delegation is going to request the Union Minister to hike MSP Rs4,050 for cotton and relaxations with regard to the moisture content in the cotton produce brought to the Market yards by the farmers to be purchased by the CCI.The team is likely to meet on November6.
