Orchids accused Gundanna remanded to police custody

The CCB police handed over the accused to the Jalahalli police

Bengaluru: Gundanna, the 45-year-old office assistant of Orchids The International School, who was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a three-and-a-half-year-old girl in the shcool, has been remanded in the police custody for six days.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths who had arrested Gundanna on Saturday produced him before a magistrate at his residence in the National Games Village in Koramangala on Sunday evening.

The police requested the magistrate that they would require Gundanna’s custody as they had not yet completed his questioning in the case. The Magistrate considered the request and handed over the accused in police custody for the next six days.

Later, the CCB police handed over the accused to the Jalahalli police, who have registered the case. Earlier, the CCB police questioned Gundanna in connection with the incident and gathered information from him.

Meanwhile, the CCB police, who are also probing the case filed by the Department of Public Instruction against the school, would visit all the branches of the school in the city on Monday. “A team is put on work to probe it and we will visit all the branches of the school. We have to verify all their documents and then take the investigation further,” an official said.
