Abhishek Bachchan visits theatres to check out audience response to 'HNY'

Mumbai: Abhishek Bachchan and his ‘Happy New Year’ team have been basking in the success of their big Diwali release. The film has broken box office records after collecting a whopping Rs 44 crore on the first day itself.

Abhishek Bachchan has his own little tradition of visiting theatres screening his films in the city to get a taste of the audience reaction to his films. ‘Happy New Year’ was no exception. He visited Gaiety Galaxy in Mumbai and was overwhelmed by the crowd that swarmed the theatre to watch the film.

Abhishek plays the role of a drunken wastrel from the slums of Mumbai. His character Nandu Bhide was received very well by the audience. Abhishek’s father Amitabh took to Twitter to share these pictures of their little visit.

‘Happy New Year’ also stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.
