Woman techie kidnapped by spurned suitor in Dharapuram

The IT engineer, Kavipriya, had come to her native place
Coimbatore: A 24-year-old young woman, working as a software engineer in a leading IT company in Chennai, has allegedly been kidnapped in Dharapuram in Tirupur district. The IT engineer, Kavipriya, had come to her native place, Dharapuram, from Chennai to celebrate Deepavali with her family when she was allegedly abducted.
Kavipriya's father, Baladhandayudham Bhani (54), from Sengattupalayam in Dharapuram, has lodged a police complaint that she has been allegedly kidnapped by Kanagaraj (30), son of Chellamuthu, in Dharapuram.
Kanagaraj works as a manager in a private windmill company in Tirupur district and expressed a wish to marry Kavipriya. His father Chellamuthu had approached Baladhandayudham with the proposal. However Baladhandayudham rejected the alliance and refused to meet Chellamuthu after that.
When Kavipriya came to Dharapuram bus stand on Tuesday evening to board a bus for home, a five-member gang, led by Kanagaraj, had allegedly kidnapped her in a car and fled.
Police registered a case of kidnap and have launched a hunt for Kanagaraj.
