Kerala NCP to fax resolution against support to BJP

Kerala NCP unit conveyed its reservations overthe support offer
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state unit of NCP has informally conveyed its reservations regarding the central leadership’s decision to offer outside support to the BJP for forming a government in Maharashtra. NCP state president Uzhavoor Vijayan said the sentiments of the members, who attended the meeting in Kochi on Tuesday, would be faxed to the central leaders.
“We will convey the feelings of the party members to Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel. Our senior leader and national secretary T.P. Peethambaran master will speak to the central leaders shortly,’’ he added.
He said the opinion aired by the majority members at the meet had already been conveyed to some of the national leaders individually. “We are firm on staying with the LDF in Kerala. There is no question of any compromise on the issue of secularism,’’ he added.
When asked whether the NCP feared that the BJP might utilise the opportunity to open its account in the Assembly in Kerala, Mr Vijayan said, “Let them open the account not through loan but by seeking people’s mandate directly. There is no question of any of our leaders crossing over to the BJP camp,’’ he added.
