Oppo announced the launch of its two most-awaited handsets, the N3 and R5 on October 29. The N3, the latest addition to the N series is the world’s first smartphone to feature an automated swivel camera, and the R5 is the world’s thinnest full high-definition phone.
Oppo N3
The Oppo N3 features a 5.5-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) touchscreen display and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU, coupled with 3GB of RAM. Oppo N3 also sports a 16MP rotating camera, but with an added function – automation. It has the ability to rotate 206 degrees and is capable of taking 64MP high-resolution images using its free-stop and multi-angle shooting features.
Furthermore, the camera showcases OPPO’s unique target-tracking focus shift function, this means that all its users need to do is to identify the target in focus and the camera will constantly modify its angle to follow the moving target, helping users create clear, pristine photos and videos. In addition, to make the camera more user-friendly , users can control the camera rotation in three ways - by O-click, gestures and touch access.
Oppo R5
Oppo also surprised its fans by unveiling another 5.2-inch R5 smartphone in Singapore. The R5 is the first smart phone to measure less than 5mm thick, a level that the industry had previously considered unachievable. Despite its thin frame the R5 is equipped with exceptional technology including an octa-core Qualcomm MSM8939, and comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED screen giving the highest brightness and color rendition, the lowest reflection ratio, and highest ambient light contrast ratio available.
OPPO’s R5 is also the world’s first smartphone that uses phase-change material, keeping it at a constant cool temperature whilst maintaining superior functionality. The R5’s patented heat dissipation technology 'Cool Element' protects its octa-core CPU, in turn prolonging the life of the phone. With the latest PI 2.0 Plus Flash Shot technology, the R5 lets you take the shot with an imperceptible focus time – it has a maximum focus time of 0.18 seconds and delivers 50MP high-definition picture clarity.
The Oppo R5 is built with first-grade steel and designed with a micro-arc frame to make the entire device smooth and sturdy.
The Oppo N3 and R5 come with the VOOC mini rapid charging system, which allows the battery to charge up to 75% in just 30 minutes.
The retail price of the OPPO N3 is 649 USD, while the OPPO R5 is priced at 499 USD.
