Sangameshwar temple surfaces in Srisailam

The temple surfaced after hiatus of 12 years
Kurnool: The peak of Sangameshwar temple at Srisailam has appeared before Diwali again after a hiatus of 12 years. It last appeared before Diwali in November 2002.The event is recognised as Pushkarakalam and special rituals are performed by priest Talakapalli Raghuram Sharma commemorating the event. Excess water discharged by the Telangana State to produce power has resulted in the appearance of the temple peak.
The reason for the temple peak’s appearance in November 2002 was attributed to that year’s drought. Coincidentally, Nara Chandrababu Naidu is the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on both the occasions.
