Hyderabad: TV actress Ulka Gupta, popular for her role in and as Jhansi Ki Rani, is making her big screen debut. The actress is playing the young princess Rudhramadevi in the Telugu film of the same title.
Initially, director Gunasekhar wanted to cast a Telugu girl, but finally roped in Ulka as he was impressed with her performance in the serial.
Ulka will appear for nearly half an hour at the beginning of the film while Anushka will play the older Radhramadevi.
Interestingly the actress will appear in the film as a prince as well as a princess. The young Rudhramadevi is also called Rudradeva and dresses as a boy.
Popular actor Srikanth’s son Roshan is playing the young Rana in the film.
