ATI case: District in-charge minister V Srinivas defends Police

He recalled how the kin of Mr. Prasad told every one that they would take his body to ATI

Bengaluru: Are systematic efforts being made to dilute two cases reported at Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Mysore, earlier this week? The two incidents are: absence of police officers at a time when IAS officer Rashmi Mahesh was assaulted, and the other, alleged wrongdoing by another IAS officer, Ms. Amita Prasad.

Ms. Rashmi Mahesh has blamed the state intelligence chief A.M. Prasad for absence of police officers on the campus of ATI when she was attacked. On Saturday, however, the episode was given a new twist by district in-charge minister V. Srinivas Prasad in an effort to exonerate police officer. A reporter of a television channel, who was present outside the mortuary, called the bluff of Mr. Srinivas Prasad.

He recalled how the kin of Mr. Venkatesh told every one that they would take his body to ATI. Therefore, Ms Rashmi Mahesh’s allegation that there was a conspiracy against her seems to be true. Mr Srinivas Prasad said the family of Venkatesh told the police that they would take the body to his native place. So, police officers did not go to ATI.

However, the family misled the police and took the body to ATI where some staff members of a canteen attacked Ms. Rashmi Mahesh.
