India, China agree to work on confidence building

It is to prevent incidents like the recent standoff
New Delhi: India and China on Friday decided to implement additional confidence building measures including “regular interaction between the Army Headquarters and Field Commands of the two sides, additional border personnel meeting points, and more telecommunication linkages between forward posts of the two sides at mutually agreed locations” to prevent incidents like the recent standoff between troops of the two sides in Ladakh recently.
The talks were held between diplomats of the two sides accompanied by Army officers of the two countries. Both Army and paramilitary ITBP officers were part of the Indian delegation.
In a statement issued on Friday, the MEA said, “The talks were held in a constructive manner. Both sides agreed on several confidence building measures.”
