Get the best look this Diwali

There is a lot of room to experiment during this festive season
Diwali is almost here and everyone is busy stocking up their wardrobes according to the latest fashion trend this festive season. While designers agree that it is that one time of the year when people should try and stick to traditional attire, there is plenty of room to experiment as well.
According to designers, for women, long silhouettes are really picking up. “One could pair a long kalidar dress with palazzo pants and you need not carry a dupatta with it. And the colours could vary from a powder pink or peach to midnight blue or black,” says designer Nil of Dev r Nil.
Designer Varun Bahl swears by the good old anarkali and feels that it lends for a flattering silhouette to every woman, “Especially one with a dropped waist (a low, horizontal waistline that usually falls near the level of the upper hips) in bright colours suited for the festive season,” adding that accessories and shoes depend on the kind of outfit chosen.
Nil says, “A jewelled clutch is recommended because it not just compliments an outfit but is also useful. Your clutch can hold essentials like a little cash and a lipstick and you’ll be good to go.”
“Although heels are a woman’s best friend, some might prefer wedges or flats as long hours at puja might be a part of the festive plan.” For men, the drill is relatively simple — a nice and crisp kurta pyjama makes you look just right for a festive occasion. “Choose kurtas in colours like yellow and red; natural fabrics like tussar is also recommended for men,” adds Nil.
