Hyderabad: After Mumbai, Telangana state home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and a team of senior officials may go globetrotting to New York and London soon to study the police setup.

Back from hospital after undergoing knee surgery, the home minister returned to work promising to fill up all vacant posts in the police department and also to make Hyderab-ad a safe and smart city. “We will take stringent action against those harassing wom-en and into other illegal activities in Hyderabad and the state. KCR garu wants Hyderabad to be a safe and smart city. We have visited Bombay (Mumb-ai) to study policing and we may visit New York and London soon,” he said.

Mr Narasimha Reddy said, “Ultimately we want to attract visitors and investments in Hyderabad and ensure a congenial climate for the same.”

When his attention was drawn to the attack on a girl by a youth and the youth committing suicide, the home minister said, “It’s a personal affair. The boy seemed to be deeply in love with the girl. But he should not have attacked the girl. It’s wrong. There is no role of the government, Chief Minister and media in this issue. It’s not a public issue.”
