Telugu Desam plans to meet PM Modi, seek more power for AP

CM to explain why farmers demanding better power supply and waiver of farm loans

Hyderabad: Telangana Telugu Desam leaders on Monday said it was increasingly evident that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was not interested to resolve the power crisis and, they being responsible Opposition in the state, would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union ministers to ensure Central assistance to rescue the state.

Addressing a news conference at the party headquarters here along with the party legislators, Telangana Telugu Desam president L. Ramana said that there was tremendous response to their Bus Yatra in four Telangana districts as people are completely distressed with the inefficient administration by the TRS government.

“It is everybody’s knowledge that Telangana would suffer badly in power supply after it’s formation, but due to inefficient handling of power portfolio by KCR the situation turned from bad to worse. The Chief Minister is just not interested in solving genuine issues of the region. Instead of resolving the problems, he resorted to play power politics and busy to induct more men from other parties”, Mr Ramana said. The TD leaders have also criticised the Chief Minister for not visiting the family of a farmer, who committed suicide on account of poor power supply, though he went to Adilabad district for some other function.

The leaders demanded that Mr Rao explain why farmers are hitting the roads demanding better power supply and waiver of farm loans when he had said there will be no need for anyone to agitate against his government.
