Japan-based Clarion, a Hitachi company has brought the first Android-Based Connected Car infotainment system to India: The Clarion AX1 is a 6.5-inch LCD touch screen dashboard unit with 3 home pages of icons, fuelled by an 800MHz automobile processor, with 1GB of RAM.
In addition to voice guided navigation and a rear camera input, the unit can link to your mobile phone, browse the Internet through Wi-Fi, and display full HD video with 6-channel audio. A tie up with T-series gives you unlimited access to Indian music, while Online store Infogo offers access to a catalogue of 25 million licenses songs for download. The AX1 is marketed in India by Supreme Audiotronics and costs Rs 55,990.
