Pakistan's UN move is a ploy to internationalise the issue: MHA

Rajnath Singh vowed Indian forces were giving a befitting reply to ceasefire violations

New Delhi/Jammu/Islamabad: India has decided to respond adequately to Pakistan’s aggression.

“There is no change in this stand. We will respond appropriately and adequately to Pakistan’s aggression and strategy,” a senior official said.

Government sources said Pakistan’s move was “a ploy to internationalise the issue”. A top MHA official said: “Pakistan has made repeated attempts to internationalise the issue in the past too. We reject the move and do not take any cognisance of it.”

Addressing an election rally at Dhule, Maharashtra, home minister Rajnath Singh vowed Indian forces were giving a befitting reply to ceasefire violations. “India never did any ceasefire violation... India is not expansionist-minded but we have told our jawans to give a befitting reply. The government will never let the country down,” Mr Singh said.
