Hyderabad: The huge losses incurred by recent “big” films like Sikander, Rabhasa and Aagadu, have led the distributors wanting to amend the rules of the game. And NTR Jr and Puri Jagannadh are the first to feel the heat.
Sources say that producer Bandla Ganesh apparently told the actor and director of his upcoming film that he couldn’t bear their huge remunerations as the film’s budget was going out of hand.
Shooting of the movie too was stopped for this reason. Following this, NTR Jr decided to cut his remuneration by nearly Rs 3 crore and Puri too followed suit.
“Recently, the producers, distributors and exhibitors met at Hyderabad and questioned the high remunerations charged by lead actors and directors.
The producer is spending more money on the remunerations than on the film. So they decided to stop this monopoly,” says a producer. The industry hopes that other actors too will follow NTR Jr.
