Consultant to better Metro experience

Stress on making customer-friendly stations
Kochi: Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) is all set to appoint a ‘Customer Experience Management Advisor’ to focus on operations and infrastructure developments of metro stations centred around the needs of individual customers.
“Our vision is to build world-class metro stations which are customer-friendly. Just like the international airports, we’re appointing a consultant as the ‘Branding and Customer Experience Management Consultant,” said a KMRL official.
Apart from the primary task of developing design manuals with regard to matters like Logo, Brand and Equity, the consultant has to pin-point methodologies to deliver superior customer experiences.
“For instance, way-finding facility inside metro stations. A customer can easily know the route map and direction of prominent locations around the station from sketches displayed on the station walls. They should go into minute details like the shape of furniture or the station interior walls to depict the culture of the local place. All the metro stations will be based on a theme and should have continuity,” the official said.
“We’ve invited the Request For Proposals (RFP) on a national basis and interested firms can clarify details in the next one week,” the official said.
A project review meet presided by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is scheduled to be held on October 20 in which the response to the RFP will be evaluated.
