Burdwan IED blast: Three Jamat-linked madrasas in West Bengal identified

10 boys from Assam are suspected to have gone through intensive training
Guwahati: The security forces have identified at least three madrasas, which were used by Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen of Bangladesh (JMB) for radicalisation of its modules recruited in Assam and West Bengal.
Disclosing that more than 10 boys from Western Assam are suspected to have gone through intensive training in these madrasas of Burdwan and Murshidabad districts in West Bengal, security sources said among those six arrested in Assam, at least two were pro-actively involved in the subversive plans of JMB in Assam.
Informing that Shakil Ahmed Gazi, who died in the Burdwan IED blast, was the operations head of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, security sources said that West Bengal unit of JMB was involved in supplying arms and ammunitions and explosive to its modules in Bangladesh.
The investigation of the security agencies has also revealed that six arrested JMB cadres had also sent some money to JMB for training its modules.
Admitting that it would be too early to reach any conclusion on subversive plans of JMB in Assam, security sources said that arrested cadres claim that they went for training in self-protection from frequent onslaught on their community in the state.
JMB was founded in 1998 but came to limelight in 2001. In 2005 it was involved in serial bomb blast of Bangladesh.
