Cricket Score Ind vs WI 2nd ODI: India beat West Indies by 48 runs

India level the series 1-1

New Delhi: In the second ODI of the 5-match series, India managed to put up a healthy total of 263 on the board after electing to bat first against West Indies at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi.

Here is the live cricket score.

With Rampaul bowling some rank looseners and Dhawan taking eternity to get ready to face his first ball, the match got off to a slow start. However, Jerome Taylor added some action in the second over when he castled the local boy Dhawan to give West Indies their first breakthrough.

India promoted Rayudu ahead of Virat Kohli at number three. While Rayudu hit some crisp boundaries, India's run-rate could not improve much. The hosts brought up their fifty in the 13th over but they lost Rahane in the same over bowled by Darren Sammy.

Batting at number four, Virat Kohli made a bright start hitting three wonderful-looking boundaries. But Rayudu, who replaced Kohli at his regular position at number three, was sent back to the dressing room by Sulieman Benn.

From thereon though, West Indies were made to struggle by Raina, Kohli duo. The local boy Kohli who had been having a torrid time played sensibly without risking his wicket. Raina, on the other hand, was more fluent and authoritative in his knock. The pair not only revived Indian inning but also put the pressure back on the West Indian team.

However, Raina got out after a hundred-run partnership when he got out off Jerome Taylor's bowling. Kohli too did not last too long following Raina's dismissal as he got out caught at long-off. Ravindra Jadeja who replaced Kohli in the middle struggled to get going and could only score 6 before dragging one onto the stumps off Taylor's bowling.

However, the tumble of wickets could not affect MS Dhoni as he guided India team to 263. The Indian skipper scored a crucial fifty to make sure that his team reach a formidable total.

Teams:

India: Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain and wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Amit Mishra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav.

West Indies: Dwayne Smith, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo (captain), Marlon Samuels, Denesh Ramdin (wicketkeeper), Kieron Pollard, Darren Sammy, Andre Russell, Sulieman Benn, Ravi Rampaul, Jerome Taylor.

While West Indies made no changes to the team that outplayed India in the first game, India brought in Umesh Yadav to replace injured Mohit Sharma.

Dhoni is not too fond of changing and chopping the side too often and that showed as he decided to stick with Amit Mishra instead of handing over debut to Kuldeep Yadav. What Dhoni would like to change is, India's fortunes following a defeat in Kochi.

West Indies skipper Dwayne Bravo, while hoping that the scuffle with their cricket board gets sorted, must be more than happy to see his team continuing their good show on the field.

West Indies lost their fifth wicket. Marlon Samuels and Denesh Ramdin out in quick succession. West Indies are 189/5.

India bounce back in the match. D Bravo caught out at lon off by Dhawan. West Indies are trailing at 199/8
