Politics on ceasefire issue has lowered troops morale: Rajnath Singh

Singh exhorted people to elect a BJP government with full majority

Dadri/Bhiwani (Haryana): Union Home minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday attacked the Congress and other parties for "playing politics" on the issue of ceasefire violations, saying it has lowered the morale of the forces and asked people to shun them.

Addressing poll rallies in Dadri and Bhiwani in poll-bound Haryana, Singh said people of the country will "never forgive" the Congress for playing politics on such a sensitive issue concerning national security and for "lowering" the morale of our forces.

"While there was firing at the border, Congress and other opposition parties were busy doing their petty politics. Their actions led to lowering of the morale of our forces. The country will never forgive them for this," he said.

In further attack on Congress, the Union minister alleged that during the UPA regime, when Pakistan beheaded Indian soldier, they defended the action of the Pakistan Army.

Invoking the pride of brave soldiers from Haryana who have served the country for years, Singh called upon people to shun the Congress and other parties and give the BJP an opportunity to serve the state and ensure its speedy development.

Campaigning for BJP candidates at the two places, he exhorted people to elect a BJP government with full majority, saying the party's regime at the Centre will ensure the state's speedy progress.

Singh also addressed poll rallies in Bhawani Kalan and Naraingarh in Ambala.
