Hisar: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday hit out at BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying they were misleading people even though their promises of 'Achey Din' were yet to come true.
"The BJP had sought votes in the Lok Sabha election promising good days (achey din). But after four months the BJP government at the Centre stands exposed as price rise has touched a new high," Hooda said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is still misleading the people by his false oratory, the Chief Minister said addressing an election meeting.
Taking a dig at BJP, Hooda said the party does not even have a leader whom it could project as its Chief Ministerial candidate.
Slamming former chief minister and INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala, Hooda said he was openly declaring that he will become the next chief minister after the election, "but the truth is that he cannot even contest the election".
Chautala, MLA from Uchana Kalan, is barred from contesting the October 15 polls, in the wake of his conviction in a teachers' recruitment case last year.
However, the INLD chief who is currently out on bail on health grounds, has been campaigning for his party candidates and has even said that he will take oath as the next chief minister from Tihar jail.
The Chief Minister made a fervent appeal to the voters and said, "Congress government worked for the welfare of all sections of society."
Hooda sought votes for Congress candidate Naresh Selwal while campaigning in Uklana constituency.
"If you want to see me as Chief Minister for the third time, then you will have to elect Naresh Selwal as legislator from Uklana constituency. You will also have to elect other Congress candidates who are contesting the election," Hooda said.
